Rio de Janeiro for OLYMPICS 2016 … YAYYYYYYYYYY!   PARABENS!**

Rio wins Olympics 2016

The bid for the 2016 Olympics is over.  In an announcement made Friday, the IOC has awarded Rio de Janeiro the opportunity to host the 2016 Olympic Games.

Right after the announcement big celebrations broke out all over the country, especially in Rio.  People cried, danced, and partied in all the joy.

There were four city finalists, Chicago; USA, Tokyo; Japan, Rio de Janeiro; Brazil, and Madrid; Spain.  Chicago was the first to get eliminated, followed by Tokyo.  In the last round Rio came out on top over Madrid with more than 40 votes.  Rio de Janeiro is the first South American city to host the Olympics.

This is wonderful in my opinion.  It will bring tons of new jobs, boost the economy, and bring a whole new vision to Brazil.  And I sure do hope the benefits from this trickle down to those who need it most.  I think this is just the boost Brazil needed, now maybe people around the world will learn more about Brazil other than just Carnival and nice bums.

Congratulations Rio, and we will see you all here in 2016 !

**Congratulations
